Grant grew up in Stafford, Oregon and attended Lakeridge High School. He began his undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon and completed them at Oregon State University.
Grant attended Willamette University College of Law from 2002 to 2005. He won the First Year Appellate Competition, which gained him access to Willamette Law's Moot Court. Grant also wrote for Willamette Law Online - U.S. Supreme Court section. While attending law school, Grant clerked for in-house counsel at Kettle Foods, Inc. and volunteered as a small claims mediator for Marion County Circuit Court. Upon graduation, Grant received a certificate of dispute resolution in addition to his juris doctorate degree.
Following graduation from law school, Grant clerked for one year with the Hon. Robert Selander - then presiding judge of Clackamas County Circuit Court.
Grant has practiced law since 2006 and is licensed with the Oregon and Washington state bars. He is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court, for the District of Oregon, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth and the Federal circuits.
Over the course of his legal career, Grant has successfully represented the interests of a wide variety of clients, from large companies to modest means clients.
Grant enjoys Oregon's outdoors and the time he spends with his wife and children, family and friends.
